Forest and Tree Weekend

Learn about Kelburn's diverse collection of trees in this fun and educational event. We will explore our wooded glen for a look at some native species and then we'll have a look around around the gardens at some of our impressive foreign species including our 1,000 year old Yew trees! Activities include a guided nature walk and a bonfire with marshmallows. 

  • Date: 22nd and 23rd March
  • Price: Normal admission fees
  • Activities start at 1pm

Easter Extravaganza

Come and join us for Scotland's largest and smallest Easter Egg Hunts! Venture all around the estate as you try to find one of our many hidden Easter eggs - a great way to explore Kelburn! These crazy-fun activities are perfect for all ages.  We will also have easter egg colouring, the Easter panda, a chance to feed our Easter bunnies, and of course the one, the only, Duck Race! This will be an event you won't want to miss!

  • Dates: Everday from 5th - 20th April
  • Price: Normal Admission Fees
  • Activities: 11am -  5pm
  • Please note that the large Easter egg hunt (approx. 1-1.5hrs)  requires a a willingness to hike around the glen (some areas are difficult to access with prams). The smaller Easter egg hunt will send guests to find one tiny egg hidden in the most secret of places!

Wizard School

Yes, Wizard School is back at Kelburn! Join us for an unforgettable weekend of wizardy where you can learn how to cast spells, make potions and much more! Details coming soon!

Winter Warmer Days

Let’s have some fun! Shake off the winter blues, get out the house  and come to Kelburn to play with us on our specially designed Winter Warmer days out. Included with the entrance fee are complimentary hot chocolates and marshmallows to enjoy round an afternoon bonfire.  Enjoy the winter scenery whilst on a guided walk by one of our Rangers through the Glen. Let the kids run wild whilst on a scavenger hunt inside our indoor Playbarn facility. Great outdoor games also planned are capture the flag and extreme winter rapid duck racing. Along with Kelburn’s usual attractions, such as the Equestrian Center and kids playbarn, our café will also be open serving hot meals, hot drinks and will have a selection of seasonal treats.

Scottish Natural Heritage Ranger Activities Days

To celebrate our Partnership with Scottish Natural Heritage we have a selection of specially designed Ranger led activities days for all ages.

Junior Ranger Days 

Calling all kids who like the outdoors – Junior Ranger day is here for you. Learn skills and crafts to survive outside. Get trained by our professional Rangers in bushcraft and conservation skills and have an educational day outside that will make an impact.

  • Dates: Saturday 15th March, 12th April & 17th May
  • Price: £1 (total cost per child, parents pay full admission price)
  • Activities: 11 – 3pm
  • Waterproofs / sensible clothes
  • Be sure to bring packed lunch

Health Walks 

Be active over the winter and get outdoors with us at Kelburn. Our Ranger service has planned some great guided outdoor Sunday walks. Spend the afternoon getting to know the legendary Kelburn glen and the wildlife that inhabits it in the winter, before retiring to our café for hot meals and drinks (part of the health program, aimed at older citizens, afternoon walks on Sundays).

  • Dates: 16th March, 13th April and 18th (Dawn Chorus Walk) & 24th May
  • Price: £1 (total cost per person, normal admission fees don’t apply)
  • Walks leave at 11am
  • Be sure to wear sensible clothing

Green Gyms 

Want to keep active and get fit over winter? Well we have a health program for you at Kelburn.  Get stuck in with our Rangers working outdoors digging and cutting your way to fitness and well being (part of the health program, aimed at active people, digging ditches, cutting rhododendron, etc).

  • Dates: 30th March, 27th April and 25th May
  • Price: Free and thanks for your help!
  • Times: 11am – 3pm
  • Be sure to bring your own lunch
  • Bring sensible clothing, waterproofs, sensible shoes, boots, wellies
