Kelburn Estate has received a grant from Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) to support the Kelburn Ranger Service work programme until October 2017. Scottish Natural Heritage is the Scottish Government's advisor on all aspects of nature and landscape across Scotland. SNH’s role is to help everyone understand, value and enjoy Scotland’s nature now and in the future.

Events include dawn chorus walks, bushcraft weekends, environmental art weekends and educational activities on bats and moths.
Through this grant, the KRS will actively seek to increase visitor awareness, understanding, care and responsible use of the natural and cultural heritage of Kelburn and Scotlandin general. Specific KRS activities include educational walks and talks on the local environment, a Junior Rangers programme, themed events and activities, health walks and green gyms. The KRS are also actively involved in the sustainable management and conservation of the Kelburn Estate.
